Varietals: 100% Aglianico
Vinification/Ageing: 15 day fermentation with selected yeasts followed by 15 day maceration and malolactic fermentation. 30% of the wine is aged in 5 hl oak barrels, and the remainder in steel. Unfiltered.
Description: Intense ruby red colour, dense and opaque. A rich nose of ripe fruits, balsamic notes alongside spice and leather, ending in a warm taste with austere tannins. 8000 bottles produced.
92+ Points - Ian D'Agata, Vinous: "Deep ruby with inky nuances. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, blueberry nectar, steel shavings and tar. More serious, bigger and deeper, but also less fleshy and less sweet than the 2016 Irpinia Aglianico. Perhaps currently a bit too austere on the long, slightly metallic, savory but pure finish."
