2017 Mamertino DOC

Case of 6 bottles

Varietals: 60% Nero d'Avola, 40% Nocera

Vinification/Ageing: Fermenting in stainless steel vats on the skins for 14 days. Malolactic fermentation also in stainless steel followed by 12 months ageing in 35 hl Slavonian oak barrels.

Description: Intense ruby colour with notes of spicy dark fruits, woodspice, and evergreen. Tannins are refined and well integrated with the oak. This is an elegant red; an age-old blend beloved by Julius Caesar.

"Made with 60% Nero d'Avola and 40% Nocera, this has aromas of dark-skinned berry, baking spice and Mediterranean herb. Reflecting the nose, the medium-bodied palate has concentrated flavors of dried Morello cherry, blackberry jam and cinnamon set against taut, fine-grained tannins. Drink 2021–2025." - Wine Enthusiast, 91 Points
