Vinification/Ageing: Overripe grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts and without sulphur or filtration. 26 day skin contact with final fermentation in both small wooden barrels (500-600L) and 1500L casks. Ageing on lees for 24 months with malolactic fermentation with and additional minimum of 12 months in bottle.
Description: The colour is an intense golden yellow; dry with notes of acacia flowers, orange peel, apricot, chestnut and chalky minerality. A great introduction to orange wine!
94 Points, Falstaff: "Powerful, dark golden yellow. Multilayered nose with notes of salted almond, chestnut honey and roasted apple. Energetic on the palate, compact, opens with notes of ripe pear, roasted chestnut, some honey, then fine resinous-spicy components on the finish, persistent."
94 Points, Wine Advocate: "From the town of Oslavia in the heart of the Collio appellation comes this bright copper colored wine made with the Ribolla Gialla grape in a traditional manner that truly showcases the orangish color of the skins. (The grape's name Gialla or "yellow" hints at its unique appearance.) The warm-vintage Primosic 2017 Collio Riserva Ribolla di Oslavia opens to an intriguing and complicated bouquet with elements of ripe apricot, honey-roasted nut, caramel and cinnamon. The effect is entirely smooth and silky, making the mouthfeel of this special wine its most remarkable feature. There is some tannic bite, but the wine's structure is entirely integrated and tucked in tight. This release of about 5,500 bottles is another cellar-worthy white."
