2018 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC

Case of 12 bottles

Varietals: 100% Montepulciano (organic)

Vinification/Ageing: Fermentation in steel vats. Aged 12 months, half in 30 hl Slavonian oak casks, half in second passage French oak barrique.

Description: Deep, violet shaded ruby red. Good density, typical and elegant nose with clean and complex fruit, spicy hints and balsamic notes. Well structured with evolved tannins; long finish. An elegant interpretation of Montepulciano.

89 Points - Vinous: "The 2018 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo opens up with peppery herbs and earth tones before showing crushed black raspberries, smoke and hints of animal musk. It’s soft yet almost creamy in feel, balanced by cooling acids and a pure display of red and blue fruits. The 2018 tapers off classically dry with hints of fine tannin offset by residual acids."
