Each case contains two bottles of each:

2020 Agostino Pavia, Barbera d'Asti 'Moliss'

100% Barbera. Moliss, a Piemontese term meaning 'middle son,' is a single vineyard wine with intense ruby-red colour and violet reflections, exuding aromas of fruit, vanilla, and spices, while the palate offers a dry, flinty texture, roundness, and fullness. The gentle tannins and balanced acidity are followed by a long finish with hints of tobacco and dried fruit. Barbera, originating from the Asti and Monferrato regions of Piemonte, thrives in clay/limestone soils.  Agostino Pavia and his sons Giuseppe ('Pino') and Mauro have been producing two distinct styles of Barbera from separate vineyards since the 1980s, showcasing wines that are zesty yet harmoniously balanced, with rich fruit flavours complementing their acidity. The estate, primarily located in the Commune of Agliano Terme with some vines in Montegrosso, spans approximately 10 hectares, predominantly dedicated to Barbera.  Employing sustainable farming practices, the vines were planted in 1985, and the southeast-facing vineyards sit at an elevation of around 230m above sea level.

2021 Fattoria La Rivolta Aglianico ‘Vigneti di Bruma’ IGT

100% Aglianico. This wine is a heartfelt dedication to the founders of the Bruno and Mario family, designed for daily enjoyment and wine enthusiasts alike.  With mouth-filling tannins, this wine offers a youthful character with aromas of ripe red fruit and pepper. The palate unfolds with a delightful combination of cherry and spiciness, creating a very persistent and interesting wine. Fattoria La Rivolta, a renowned Italian winery located in the Campania region, is celebrated for its unwavering commitment to organic and biodynamic farming practices. Specializing in the indigenous Aglianico grape variety, the winery harmoniously blends tradition and innovation in each bottle.

2022 Girlan, Lagrein

100% Lagrein. Native to Alto Adige near the Austrian border, Lagrein is medium-bodied, featuring a delicate bouquet reminiscent of violets, plums, and berries, with velvety tannins and a subtle bitterness. Girlan's Lagrein grapes thrive in the warm, deep sandy soils of the Bassa Atesina region, where they are hand-harvested and undergo destemming before a prolonged fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for eight months in a combination of large botti and lined concrete tanks. Cantina Girlan, established in 1923 by 23 winegrowers, now includes 200 winegrowing families managing a total of 230 hectares, with each grower maintaining an average of 1.15 hectares. Harvesting is conducted manually, and sustainable practices are prioritized to safeguard the soil and environment.

2021 Scala, Rosso Classico

100% Gaglioppo. Medium ruby in colour, this wine displays vibrant notes of red fruit, wood spice, and dried violet, leading to a concentrated palate that exudes richness and charm, supported by firm tannins and a refreshing finish. Gaglioppo grapes, cultivated in sandy clay soils, undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks and a year of aging in concrete. The Scala family, stewards of the estate for two centuries, established the winery in 1949, now helmed by Luigi and Francesco Scala, who prioritize organic cultivation of indigenous varieties, focusing on quality to craft distinguished and delightful Calabrian wines across their 18-hectare Cirò DOC vineyard.

2022 Valle Reale, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

100% Montepulciano. This youthful red wine presents a bright ruby-red hue. It bursts with aromas of blueberries, cherries, licorice, and sweet spices, offering a medium-bodied palate with ample acidity and a pleasing finish. Established in 2000, Valle Reale meticulously selects clones to enhance the natural qualities of Montepulciano grapes, resulting in vibrant DOC base wines and exceptional cru wines that set new standards for Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Situated within Abruzzo's national park, Valle Reale's vineyards benefit from unique terroir features such as thin limestone soils and temperature fluctuations from the nearby Gran Sasso mountains, fostering fully matured fruit with fresh aromas and intricate complexity in their wines.

2021 Zerbina ‘Poggio Vicchio’ Romagna Sangiovese Superiore DOC

100% Sangiovese.  This fruit-forward wine, showcasing morello and red cherry notes, typical of the red clay of Marzeno, boasts a subtle mineral touch on the finish. A refreshing wine with lean silky tannins is well supported by the pleasant acidity. Zerbina, situated in the Emilia-Romagna, is an esteemed winery recognized for its dedication to producing outstanding wines with a focus on Sangiovese and Albana grape varieties. Founded by Cristina Geminiani, Zerbina stands out for its emphasis on traditional winemaking practices, expressing the unique terroir of the Romagna area in each of its wines.
