Tasting Notes: A moderately full bodied red wine. Brick-red to ruby-red in colour with aromas of sour cherries, red berries, plums, and forest floor. The palate is elegant, velvety, and juicy.

Ageing/Vinification: Fermentation on the skins in stainless steel punch-down tanks for 15 days. Malolactic fermentation and maturation in 60 hl oak casks for about 6 months.

Vineyard: The Abbazia di Novacella is located in the northern-most winegrowing region on the southern side of the Alps. North / north-west facing vineyards located in Marklhof, Cornaiano (Appiano), approximately 350m to 420m above sea level. The soil contains permeable moraine deposits on a porphyritic bedrock.
