Tasting Notes: Ruby red, notes of cherry, leather, mint and rose petals. Great complexity, minerality and freshness. Developed tannins.

Ageing/Vinification: 15-20 day fermentation in concrete tanks at a controlled temperature with malolactic fermentation also in concrete. Submerged cap maceration for 45 days in concrete tanks. Malolactic fermentation in concrete tanks. Aged 12 months in 20 or 30hl Slavonian oak casks followed by 1 year of bottle maturation before being released.

Vineyard: The best grapes are selected from single vineyard Istine located in Radda in Chianti, very close to the border with Castellina in Chianti, one of the highest vineyards in the region, planted in 2002. Vineyard is about 5h in size, 480m to 550m above sea level with north/north west exposure, on soil that is extremely rich in skeleton with alternating marly limestones (Alberese and Galestro), very steep and surrounded by a dense oak forest.
