Tasting Notes: Intense bouquet with aromas ranging from small red fruits to mint and licorice, good minerality. In the mouth it is complex, full-bodied, soft and aromatic tannins, balanced acidity.

Ageing/Vinification: Cold pre-fermentation maceration (36 to 48 hours), alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts at controlled temperature. Racking into new barriques at the beginning of the malolactic fermentation. Aged for 14 months in barrels, then about 12 months in the bottle.

Vineyard: Grapes come from a 4h plot called Piastraia, the winery's most important vineyard. It sits on top of the hill of Castagneto Carducci, more than 300m above sea level offering a spectacular view from hilltops overlooking the sea. The soil has a distinctive mineral base made of marl schist.
