Modern Vision Rooted in Tradition
Diego Morra, situated in the historic village of Verduno in Piedmont, combines modern winemaking with a deep respect for the region's heritage. Established in 2006, the estate is led by Diego Morra, who transformed his family's farmhouse into a thriving winery that now spans 30 hectares across the hills of Verduno, La Morra, and Roddi. Diego, with a focus on sustainable and low-intervention practices, crafts wines that reflect the unique terroirs of these prestigious vineyards. His approach emphasizes low-extraction techniques and the use of large barrels to maintain the aromatic purity and freshness of each variety.
Nurturing Ancient Vines in Verduno's Terroir
The vineyards at Diego Morra feature a diverse range of soils and microclimates, ideal for cultivating Piedmont’s native grapes, including Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, and Barbera, as well as the rare and ancient Verduno Pelaverga. Each harvest is done by hand, carefully selecting only the best grapes to ensure quality and authenticity in every bottle. The estate's focus on organic practices and minimal intervention highlights their commitment to preserving the land and its natural biodiversity.
