A mosaic of flavours
Set in the breathtaking Langhe region, Oddero is perfectly positioned to produce exceptional wines. Beyond that, this area is renowned for its rich winemaking history and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This beautiful area features a patchwork of vineyards, each with its own mix of soil types and microclimates.
The soils found here are a mix of clayey-limestone marl and sandy remnants from ancient seas. This creates an ideal environment for Nebbiolo to thrive, laying the foundation for their renowned Barolo and Barbaresco wines. The diverse soil composition and slightly warmer climate in certain areas contribute to the wines' unique complexity. Each vineyard, whether on sandy hills or marl-rich slopes, imparts its own distinct flavour, reflecting the diverse winemaking capabilities of the Langhe.

An Established Legacy
The history of Oddero is as rich and layered as the wines it produces. The Oddero family’s winemaking roots trace back to the late 18th century, with evidence showing their presence in La Morra. Giovanni Battista Oddero and his sons, Lorenzo and Luigi, laid the groundwork for what would become a renowned winemaking legacy. By 1878, the wines were being bottled and making their mark internationally. In the 1950s, under Giacomo Oddero, a grandson of the founder, the winery underwent significant modernization and expansion. Giacomo’s influence extended beyond winemaking, playing a crucial role in shaping the regulations that elevated Piemonte’s wines. Today, Giacomo's legacy lives on through his daughter Mariacristina and her children, Isabella and Pietro. They have successfully blended tradition with modern innovation, ensuring that Poderi e Cantine Oddero remains at the forefront of the global wine stage.
