where Tradition meets innovation
Abbazia Di Novacella has been celebrated over multiple decades for their production of world class wines. Through great attention to detail, each varietal boasts their own specific growing site where their range of grape varieties can thrive.
The high altitude and cool climate of the Bressanone Valley basin, along with the sheltered slopes and moraine soils of Isarco Valley, create the ideal setting for fresh and fruit forward white wines. Further South in Balzano, the warmer weather allow their Pinor Noir to flourish.

900 years of wine
Abbazia di Novacella holds the distinction of being one of the oldest active wineries in the world. Founded by the Augustinian Order as early as in 1142, with then Pope Alexander III. confirming the Monastery’s ownership of vineyards in the vicinity in 1177. To this very day, the Abbey is surrounded by terraced vineyards, and is revered as a historical and cultural treasure for its commitment to sustainable winemaking practices.
