Two Vineyards, One Passion
Hidden in the heart of Friuli, I Clivi features two unique vineyards that provide an unparalleled sensory experience. Despite being just a few kilometers apart, these vineyards have distinct orientations; South-East and South-West, each bringing out different expressions of the Tocai Friuliano grape in terms of acidity and aromaticity. The unifying factor is the ancient Ponca soil, rich in marl, sandstone and fossils.
At I Clivi, organic farming is a way of life. The family passionately upholds a sustainable, hands on approach, ensuring every detail reflects their artisanal commitment of honouring the land. Their unique terroir, combined with old vines and ideal sun exposure, results in the fine, light and complex wines we've come to know and love!

Free to dream, eager to learn
In the mid-nineties, after a 40 year stint in Africa, Ferdinando retired and fulfilled his lifelong dream of purchasing a vineyard in Cormons, his wife’s hometown. This bold move anchored his son Mario to the land, transforming him from an Economics scholar into a passionate winemaker. Embracing an unconventional approach, they defy traditional methods, infusing their craft with a spirit of innovation and free thought. Their style has clearly been a success, with exceptional wines continuing year after year.
