Monteraponi

Toscana

Nature's Masterpiece

In the heart of Chianti, Monteraponi emerges from a stunning natural amphitheater. Bathed in the warmth of the sun and shielded from northern winds, this picturesque location offers a perfect blend of natural elements. The landscape, adorned with dense vineyards, olive groves, and ancient trees, creates a harmonious and serene environment.

The estate's diverse soils and unique microclimates, impart a distinctive character to its wines. By hand-harvesting the grapes, Monteraponi preserves the integrity of each vintage, capturing the essence of the terroir. With meticulous care and a commitment to traditional methods, Monteraponi crafts wines that truly express the extraordinary nature of their environment, standing as a true gem in the world of winemaking.

From Medieval Foundations to Modern Brilliance

Monteraponi’s story is rooted in a rich history that dates back to the 10th century. Originally a medieval village under the stewardship of Count Ugo, it was later gifted to the Abbey of Poggio Martori. Today, the estate’s well-preserved medieval structures, including a tower with classic 12th-century windows, serve as a testament to its storied past. The winemaking traditions are deeply embedded in the estate, with fermentation occurring in traditional concrete vats and aging in large oak barrels from Austria and Burgundy. Under the guidance of Michele Braganti, Monteraponi has embraced an organic philosophy, producing Chianti Classico wines and other delicacies with the utmost respect for the land and traditional practices.
