From Princes' Tables, to Your Glass
Founded in the 1980s by Vittorio and Mariella Moretti, Contadi Castaldi transformed an old brickyard into a state-of-the-art winery. The brickyard’s expansive spaces and historic tunnels are now perfect for aging Franciacorta vintages and welcoming wine lovers. The name "Contadi Castaldi" is an homage to the ancient history of Franciacorta, its 19 municipalities and their commitment to outstanding agriculture. In the 1500s, when the Venetian Republic reaching new heights, Franciacorta produced food and wine destined for the tables of princes, kings and rich merchants. Despite Franciacorta's relatively young history, achieving DOCG status in 1995, Contadi Castaldi has quickly become a trailblazer in the region.
