Keeping it fresh
The Campi Flegrei area on the Campania coast, just north of Naples, is renowned for its unique winemaking conditions. The region boasts sandy volcanic soils and a favourable exposure to ocean winds, creating a microclimate that allows vines to thrive without the need for grafting.
This distinctive terroir results in wines with fully developed flavours and excellent acidity. Notably, La Sibilla focuses on indigenous grapes that have been known over time to thrive in the conditions here. They use specific temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, ensuring the wines vibrant and fresh characteristics are preserved.

Strength in family, mastery in expertise
The Di Meo family has been producing wine in the Campi Flegrei for five generations. Currently, the winery is run by Luigi Di Meo, along with his sons Vincenzo, the winemaker, and Salvatore, the sommelier. Covering all aspects of winemaking within the family, they collectively highlight the nuances of their unique land. Committed to tradition, they practice organic farming to ensure their wines truly reflect the distinctive qualities of their terroir. The family's deep connection to their soil and heritage is evident in their dedication to producing authentic and distinctive wines, embodying the rich history and tradition of Campi Flegrei in every year of production.
Luigi has been quoted in the past to say, "La Sibilla is the story of our family, and can be represented by the roots of a vine that combine with the soil over the years, going ever deeper in search of minerals. We are like those roots, and for at least five generations we have worked this fascinating and mysterious little outcropping of earth called the Campi Flegrei." We couldn't have said it better ourselves!
