Sagrantino, the jewel of Montefalco
Nestled amidst lush wooded hills outside some of Umbria's medieval villages, Antonelli San Marco boasts an idyllic setting for winemaking. The plots are rich in clay and limestone, resulting in a variation of complex nuances in the wines found here.
Over the years, they have committed themselves to practicing both organic agriculture and innovation. Throughout the grounds you'll find various vineyard orientations growing Sagrantino, each highlighting the versatility and quality of their production.
At the heart of the estate lies the winery, just below the original manor house. Here, the underground cellars facilitate gravity vinification, ensuring a gentle and natural winemaking process.

The foundation of family
The winery’s roots date back to 1883, when lawyer Francesco Antonelli purchased the property. From that point on, the land went through a transformative modernization in both planting and farming practices, while focusing on the well-being of the tenant farmers at the time. With this dedication to land and community, the affinity towards the property was established. The year 1979 marks the transition into bottling and marketing their wines, with their commitment to organic viticulture serving as their guide to this day under the care of Filippo Antonelli.
