A new side of Piemonte
Marco Porello's vineyards can be found in the picturesque hills of Roero in Piemonte, on a unique terroir that contributes to their exceptional wines. The region's diverse landscape features a mix of orchards, hazelnut groves and vineyards, creating a rich tapestry of flavours and aromas.
One of their plots is dedicated entirely to Nebbiolo. Known for it's marine-origin soils with a sandy structure, imparting soft, delicate aromas to the grapes. Meanwhile, their Barbera and Roero Torretta vineyards benefit from Southwest exposure and clay-rich soils. This ensures ideal grape maturation over time. This diverse range of microclimates and soils provides an excellent showcase of the unique qualities that Southern Piemonte wines can offer.

Three generations of passionate winemaking
The history of Marco Porello Winery dates back to the early 20th century when the Porello family planted their first vineyards. In the 1930s, Patriarch Cesare Porello transformed a modest property into a full-fledged winery in the sandy hills of Roero. Cesare's sons, Riccardo and Ettore, inherited this passion and continued the family tradition with a deep commitment to quality. Since 1995, Marco Porello, Riccardo’s son and a skilled oenologist, has led the winery. Under his guidance, the winery has maintained a delicate balance between tradition and innovation, ensuring that each bottle reflects the family's legacy. The wines from Marco Porello offer an approachable and authentic taste of the region, making them an ideal introduction to the remarkable wines of Roero.
