Lodali

PIEMONTE

Iconic Wines from UNESCO’s Heart

Cantina Lodali, located in the heart of Langhe, embodies the region's rich culture and winemaking tradition. In the southern part of Piemonte, between the Po River and the Ligurian Apennines, lies a region recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The wine-growing landscapes are as picturesque as they are purposeful, and is famed for its exceptional vineyards and the iconic Castello di Cavour.

Nestled among the gentle hills of Langhe is the charming town of Treiso, where neat rows of sun-kissed vines thrive. Lodali is proud to call this diverse terrain home, enriched by centuries of viticulture dating back to Roman times. Their production of world-renowned wines continues year after year, noted as "a pleasure at the table, a delight to the palate and a banner of Italian quality."

The legacy lives on

Cantina Lodali's journey began in 1939 with Giovanni Lodali, a visionary farmer in Treiso who started making wine for his village's only restaurant. After the war, he built a house and large cellar, laying the foundation for the Lodali family's enduring winemaking legacy.

In 1955, his son Lorenzo graduated from the prestigious oenological school in Alba. By 1958, with the unwavering support of his wife Rita, Lorenzo produced their first acclaimed crus. After Lorenzo's passing in 1982, Rita and their newborn son Walter bravely continued the tradition, focusing on quality and honouring their past. Walter, who graduated from the same esteemed school in 1998, breathed new life into the winery. He enhanced the vineyards, modernized the cellar equipment and refined production techniques. With a rich history and a bright future, they continue to innovate. Offering wine enthusiasts exceptional vintages that embody both tradition and modern excellence.
