Preserve and protect
In the heart of Barolo, Giuseppe Rinaldi's wines stand as icons of traditional winemaking mastery. With a philosophy deeply rooted in authenticity and respect for the land, they cultivate their vineyards organically, embracing Barolo's optimal microclimate and gravelly soils.
Even though these are some of the most popular cru vineyards, no 'single cru vineyard' cuvées are produced. The reason behind this is simple, in their eyes. The previous generations worked diligently to achieve harmony and natural balance by blending various plots, and they continue to honour that practice in the cellar. Their approach yields wines that are powerfully structured and perfumed, embodying the essence of classic Barolo.

All in the name
The winery of Giuseppe Rinaldi, who has since passed on, was born in 1890 thanks to Battista Rinaldi who originally purchased the land. The true winemaking legacy began in the 1920s when the current owner's grandfather, Giuseppe, brought the vineyards to life. His son, Battista, revolutionized winemaking techniques, laying the groundwork for his son, also named Giuseppe, to carry on the legacy. Today, he remains deeply connected to the land and tradition, running the estate along with his daughter Marta, a graduate in oenology.
Nicknamed "Citric" for his critical mind and rigor, Giuseppe managed the vineyards with meticulous care. His philosophy of winemaking is rooted in tradition, emphasizing vineyard care and meticulous attention to detail and continues to be the driving force of how things continue on into today. Their production has only grown, specializing in Barolo and other typical Piedmontese wines, remaining a true symbol of excellence and honouring their past.
