Heritage of Humanity
La Ponderina is a unique winery, in the fact that it's a part of the Tenute del Cerro group. Acquired in 1978, the estate flourished during the Montepulciano wine renaissance, especially after earning the DOCG designation in 1980. Prior to this acquisition, the Fattoria del Cerro estate had deep roots in winemaking, having been established in 1922 by the Baiocchi family. The winery’s enduring tradition enabled Fattoria del Cerro to become a prominent producer of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, one of the oldest documented wines within the region. It's rich history of crafting the 'wines of nobles' has carried into modern day, producing a notable range we're pleased to offer.
