Following the river of history
Calabria has been associated with the production of quality wines since ancient times. The Greeks referred to the region as Enotria, the 'Land of Wine.' The farm of La Pizzuta del Principe was originally established in 1903 when it began producing olive oil and wine. Albino Bianchi, a passionate wine enthusiast and pharmacist, founded the La Pizzuta with his wife Clara Ranieri in the early 1990s. Designing the winery house himself, he harmoniously integrated the building with the natural landscape.
Today, their daughter Dorina Bianchi has led the winery toward a responsible and organic approach. Active in local politics and social causes, she is also dedicated to protecting and promoting the Foce del Neto naturalistic oasis. The Bianchis, with the help of prestigious wine consultants, have focused on respecting and enhancing their unique territory. Thanks to a rare combination of soil, altitude and microclimate, this land produces wines with an unmatched personality that they continue to showcase beautifully year after year.
