A tale of two vineyards
In the heart of Campania's white grape region of Avellino, Ciro Picariello’s vineyards thrive in the unique terroir and climate. With two distinctly different vineyards, the unique variations in their wine production is definitely not to be missed.
Their Summonte vineyard, has north-east exposure and features sandy clay marl and sandstone soils. This geographical position grants a colder climate as it is 650 meters above sea level, with what is to be considered 'clear, healthy air' due to strong winds. The Montefredane vineyard, is just over 10 kilometres away and has a much drier, well-ventilated microclimate.
Ciro Picariello sets themselves apart with dedication to hand-tended, low-yield vines. The land’s authentic character is evident, and the wines are sure to be enjoyed.

A master of his craft
Ciro Picariello, often hailed as the master of Fiano di Avellino, started planting his vines in 1990. His 7-hectare estate is managed alongside his wife and now his son Bruno. Initially selling fruit to Feudi di San Gregorio, Ciro began producing his own acclaimed wine in 2004.
His Fiano di Avellino, is certainly favoured. With handpicked grapes, then aged for 10 months without fining or filtration, his wines can age exceptionally well over time. Emphasizing minimal intervention, Ciro allows the wine to develop complexity and creaminess on its lees in stainless steel tanks. Recently, he has also ventured into producing Greco del Tufa, another remarkable white wine. It is clear they have arguably perfected their craft, without shying away from trying their hand at new wines to be added to their collection.
