Le Due Contrade Mixed Case highlights the distinct personalities of two exceptional single-vineyard wines from Passopisciaro, an iconic estate on Mount Etna. Founded by the visionary winemaker Andrea Franchetti, Passopisciaro has been instrumental in redefining the potential of Etna wines, crafting expressions of Nerello Mascalese that capture the nuances of the region’s volcanic soils.

The two wines in this mixed case are made from old-vine Nerello Mascalese and showcase the dramatic influence of Mount Etna’s volcanic soils. Contrada P Porcaria Terre Siciliane IGT is bold and structured, offering deep complexity and richness. Contrada C Chiappemacine Terre Siciliane IGT expresses a more elegant, refined profile with bright acidity and minerality.

Passopisciaro Contrada P Terre Siciliane IGT

Nerello Mascalese 100%. Tart cherry, pomegranate and whiffs of smoke. Structured with a nice tannic framework.

Passopisciaro Contrada C Terre Siciliane IGT

Nerello Mascalese 100%. Round and soft mouthfeel overall, it displays a more floral profile than other contrade. Ruby red with aromatics of red fruit, eucalyptus and dried florals. Medium body balanced, with a long finish.
