Tasting Notes: Tart cherry, pomegranate and whiffs of smoke. Structured with a nice tannic framework.

Ageing/Vinification: Fermentation in steel vats, followed by malolactic. Aged 18 months in large neutral oak barrels.

Vineyard: 1.2h of estate owned vines in Contrada Chiappemacine, a small domain at 550m above sea level. This is their lowest site for a single vineyard cru. The site produces a more full-bodied, rounder style because it lies on the last outreach of Mount Etna’s lava; beneath the thinner strata of lava lies a limestone bed to which the vines penetrate.
