FONDO SAN GIUSEPPE – Albana Secco Romagna DOC “Fiorile”

Pronunciation: “Al-bah-nah”
Grape
100% Albana, a historic white grape from Emilia-Romagna, capable of producing both dry and sweet wines with character and elegance.
Region
Hills near Brisighella and Modigliana, where clay-limestone soils and Adriatic breezes give freshness and minerality.
Tasting Notes
Straw yellow with aromas of apricot, chamomile, and wild herbs. The palate is full, mineral-driven, with notes of citrus, almond, and a subtly saline finish.
Vinification & Ageing
Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel and aged on lees for several months to enhance texture and complexity.
Ageing Potential
Best enjoyed within 4–6 years to capture its bright fruit and energy.
Food Pairing
Pairs beautifully with prosciutto, shellfish, and pasta dishes like tagliatelle al burro e salvia.

From the Bricco Boschis cru in Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of the Barolo zone. South-facing vineyards on calcareous-clay soils yield wines with structure, finesse, and longevity.
Tasting Notes
Intense aromas of cherry, rose, and tar. Layered and powerful on the palate, with firm yet fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, elegant finish.
Vinification & Ageing
Traditional long maceration in stainless steel, followed by ageing in large Slavonian oak casks for approximately 3 years to develop depth and complexity.
Ageing Potential
Can evolve beautifully for 15–25 years, gaining tertiary notes of leather, dried flowers, and spice.
