Protected by the peaks
Valle Reale stands like a jewel in the heart of Abruzzo’s rugged landscape, where the land's raw beauty meets meticulous craftsmanship. The winery is set against a dramatic backdrop of towering peaks and valleys, straddling the intersection of three pristine national parks. This region, known for its remarkable biodiversity and crisp, clean air, is the ideal home for winemaking.
Here, the microclimate is marked by striking temperature shifts between day and night, a crucial factor in developing the rich flavours of the grapes. The rocky, pebbly soil, coupled with refreshing mountain breezes, provides an ideal setting for growing their vibrant, aromatic wines.

From Revival to Excellence
Valle Reale was born in 1998 when the Pizzolo Family embarked on restoring an old Montepulciano d’Abruzzo vineyard they had acquired. Surrounded by the untouched beauty of the Abruzzo mountains, the family’s deep-rooted passion for agriculture and respect for the land drove them to delve into the history and potential of this esteemed grape variety. Their research, guided by Proffesor Leonardo Valenti, uncovered the rich heritage of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo in the region’s unspoiled areas. This historical connection was honored with the revival of the San Calisto Vineyard, which became the cornerstone of Valle Reale’s vinous identity. The family’s commitment to preserving the purity of their environment and cultivating exceptional wines remains steadfast, continually evolving with each passing year.
