Tasting Notes: An intriguing palate with a dynamic perlage that transmutes the essence of the substance into refined elegance, to be interpreted via a full and linear structure, featuring absolute freshness and minerality. Yellow citrus, almond, salt, broom and honeysuckle combine in a wine with a firm grip and depth. The gracefulness of the mouthfeel is the essential stylistic key, taking this signature palate by surprise with its rugged vertical development.
Ageing/Vinification: Soft pressing. Cold static decantation. Inoculation with selected yeasts. At least 30 months ageing on lees. 20-day fermentation in stainless steel. Aged 7 months in steel tanks. Disgorged January, March, May, then 3 months ageing.
Vineyard: Vineyards are located near Mount Alto which acts a barrier against the north winds as well as the fog that creeps up from the Po Valley. This long, isolated mountain divides Lake Iseo into two parallel gulfs - that of Iseo, in the province of Brescia, and that of Sarnico, in the province of Bergamo. The mountain is made of marine sedimentary rocks, i.e. lime, marl and sandstone. All perfect soils for grapevines, though used by brickworks and cement quarries in the past.
