Tasting Notes: Ruby red in colour with intense aromas of plum and black cherry jam. The taste is fresh, soft and enveloping, with integrated tannins. A long lasting flavour with slight minerality. From the local dialect “Merula” meaning blackbird, this is a tribute to the birds that appear every year on the vineyards at the end of the harvest.

Ageing/Vinification: Maceration with the skins for 20 days. Temperature-controlled fermentation with selected yeasts. Aged in new French oak barriques for 7 months and further 2 months in bottle before being released on the market.

Vineyard: Vineyards are located in the Carovigno∙Brindisi area, on tufaceous-calcareous soil.
