Tasting Notes: Round and soft mouthfeel overall, it displays a more floral profile than other contrade. Ruby red with aromatics of red fruit, eucalyptus and dried florals. Medium body balanced, with a long finish.

Ageing/Vinification: Fermentation in steel vats, followed by malolactic. Ageing: 18 months in large neutral oak barrels.

Vineyard: 1.2h of 70 to 80 YO vines in Contrada Chiappemacine is a small domain at 550m, the winery's lowest site for a single vineyard cru. The site produces a more full-bodied, rounder style because it lies on the last outreach of Mount Etna’s lava; beneath the thinner strata of lava lies a limestone bed to which the vines penetrate.
