Tasting Notes: Pietramora, bottled only in the best vintages, expresses the finest Sangiovese of Zerbina's vineyards. Aromas of small red berries and fruit associated with a spicy, earthy aspect, peat, and a note of boisé. A powerful, warm and dynamic wine with excellent tannins combined with savory aspect, and a very long and persistent.
Ageing/Vinification: Partly in 500-liter French oak tonneaux for 2 weeks with manual pumping over and reassembly, and partly in stainless steel tanks of medium capacity with maceration for 15 to 21 days. Aged in French oak barriques (20% new) for 12 months.
Vineyard: Vineyards located in Anfiteatro, Capanno, Pozzo and Boschetto, with west / north-east exposure. Soils are clay, limestone and chalky.
